The Ancient Walser House Museum of Borca (Alts Walserhüüs Van Zer Burfuggu) collects, catalogues and preserves everyday objects of Macugnaga’s Walser people.
It is housed in the 17th-century parish house in Borca: one of the finest traditional dwellings in the area, almost untouched over the centuries. Most artefacts were donated by Macugnaga locals themselves.

Who were the Walser
The Walser in Macugnaga
From the Middle Ages, small groups of Alemannic settlers left the Upper Valais and, through alpine passes — including the Monte Moro Pass — founded Macugnaga.
In the House Museum you find the concrete memory of that community: crafts, household objects, bread, the mine. An essential piece to understand the village you are visiting.
