Belvedere and Alpe Burki
Views of the east face, silence and pastures. At Alpe Burki, huts and refuges with alpine cuisine: a perfect base for a half-day at low–mid altitude.
Chairlift to Belvedere and cableway to Alpe Bill and Passo Moro: lifts that bring you closer to Monte Rosa’s east face. Check official opening times and enrich your stay with experiences from the booking portal.
Two areas
In Macugnaga the ski lifts connect the valley floor to two distinct areas.
On the Belvedere side, chairlifts from Pecetto climb to Alpe Burki (mid station, about 1593 m) and Belvedere (about 1914 m): a natural balcony on Monte Rosa’s “Himalayan face”.
On the Monte Moro side, cableways link Staffa to Alpe Bill and, with the second section, to Passo Moro (about 2870 m), one of the best-known scenic passes in the Anzasca Valley.

At altitude
When sections are running, taking the chairlift or cableway opens views, alpine pastures and trails without facing the elevation gain on foot first — ideal for families, weekends and slow-pace mountain lovers.

Views of the east face, silence and pastures. At Alpe Burki, huts and refuges with alpine cuisine: a perfect base for a half-day at low–mid altitude.

From Belvedere you can continue on foot toward Rifugio Zamboni-Zappa, routes on the Belvedere glacier and Lago delle Locce — trails of varying difficulty; choose by fitness and conditions.

The cableway brings you to Alpe Bill and, when the second section is open, to Passo Moro: 360° views of the Alps and toward Switzerland, with the Madonna della Neve near the top station.
Summer and winter
In summer the lifts — in operating periods published by the company — make trekking, mountain biking and panoramic days among meadows, woods and high altitude easier.
In winter Belvedere and Monte Moro are the heart of skiing and snowboarding in Macugnaga, with slopes and links described on the official map.
Individual lifts or sections may be closed for maintenance, weather or technical updates: do not rely on hearsay — check live status before planning your day.
